“I can’t put into words how much TAB has helped me. The people on my board have helped me in ways I never thought possible. Everyone works together to come up with ideas and solutions for everyone else’s problems. Since I’m still pretty young and in the process of taking over my father’s company, it really helps having other people on my board that are in the same situation or already been through it. When I signed up for TAB I really didn’t know how great it would be. I’ve only been a part of TAB for 6 months but I’ve learned more than I could have anywhere else.”

I have had one key employee participating in the Key Executive Board provided by TAB for about 18 months.  During this time I have seen that employee develop a noticeably higher level of leadership and management skills.  Due to my own experience in TAB, it is apparent that my employee's development has been a direct result of his participation with the TAB Board. I have been impressed that his core thinking skills have risen from a general employee level to a leadership and management level. His development into a key leader has been extremely valuable to my firm.   As I am developing additional staff in key roles, I plan to include them on future TAB boards.

"TAB has made me realize that even though the business I'm in is different than that of others on the board, I can easily relate to much of what they go through.  By having a chance to discuss my issues and hear others speak on theirs, it is clear that we all have areas we can improve on.  Creative Access is the first and only job I've had since graduating in 2000, therefore the business standards and practices in place here is all I know.  I find it very beneficial to hear how other managers handle their jobs and manage their support staff.  Many of their suggestions have been carried out at work with positive results.  This includes prioritizing time, constructively criticizing younger staff so as to not discourage them, being more stern when needed, and facilitating staff meetings better.  I feel my overall thinking skills have also grown considerably in that I now realize there isn't always only one way of doing things.  The experience of the other board members, as well as having a member well versed in Human Resources, are wonderful assets to myself and others in that no matter what the challenge, it's usually something someone has already gone through, meaning they know how and how not to handle the situation.  The overall feedback from the members and the facilitator go along way and have undoubtedly contributed to any success I've experienced as a manager to date."
